Tummy Tuck

The technical term for tummy tuck is abdominoplasty. It involves removing excess skin and fat from the abdominal area. Tummy tucks are not recommended for individuals that are planning on significant weight loss in the future or are planning on future pregnancies.

Usually, a horizontal incision is made below the navel and above the pubic hairline. Excess fat is removed and abdominal muscles are repaired if need be. Excess skin is also removed. If fat needs to be removed from the upper abdomen, another incision is made around the navel.
